Welcome to A Sacred Moment!
My name is Tanashia Huff. I am a DONA International trained birth doula and a member of the Tallahassee Doula Co-op. I have humbly served hundreds of women and babies as a Labor & Delivery nurse for the last 12 yrs.
I realized at a very early age that my life’s calling was to be with women during pregnancy/birth. As a child the only person that I knew who “delivered” babies was Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable from the Cosby Show..."push 'em out, shove 'em out, way out!" So, naively I thought I wanted to be an Obstetrician. I went off to college with the pursuit of carrying the title MD. There I learned about Midwifery & my soul stirred.
I graduated from Tallahassee Community College School of Nursing in the Spring of 2001 with the aspirations of becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife. My journey has blessed me to witness the sacred moment of birth in many ways.
However, in the Summer of 2011 while supporting a dear friend in labor, I had an awakening. I am a doula! It was time for me to become committed to the women that I was serving and assist them in achieving the births that they desire.
As a Doula, I am dedicated to spreading the message that every woman has a right to make informed choices during her birth and I am committed to providing her the love and support that she needs along the way.
"We have a secret in our culture, and it's not that birth is painful. It's that women are strong"
